In the coming years, we may come to understand health not merely as the absence of disease but rather as the capacity to share, display and enjoy one’s gifts, connect to a larger sense of meaning, and maintain inner coherence in the face of personal, relational and environmental changes.
Inspired by HeartMath’s definition of health:
“We are coming to understand health not as the absence of disease, but rather as the process by which individuals maintain their sense of coherence (i.e. sense that life is comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful) and abaility to function in the face of changes in themselves and their relationships with their environment.”
